ROBERTO AGUIRRE-SACASA saw three of his new plays produced in 2006: Based on a Totally True Story (dir. Michael Bush), at the Manhattan Theatre Club, The Velvet Sky (dir. Rebecca Taichman) at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre, and Dark Matters at the Rattlestick Theatre. He is the author of The Mystery Plays, produced last year at the Second Stage Theatre; The Muckle Man, which was produced by DC's Source Theatre in 2001 and earned two Helen Hayes Award nominations, including The Charles MacArthur Award for Best New Play; Say You Love Satan, which received the 2003 Excellence in Playwriting Award from the NYC Fringe Festival, as well as a GLAAD Media Award nomination; and Rough Magic, which premiered at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca last July. He is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama. Additionally, Roberto proudly writes The Fantastic Four and Spider-Man for Marvel Comics and is developing Dark Matters into a horror screenplay for Warner Brothers.
