Robert LuPone
ROBERT LuPONE is the co-artistic director and founder of MCC Theater, with Bernard Telsey. MCC is producer of Frozen at Circle in the Square. Founded 18 years ago, MCC brings exciting new voices to Off-Broadway through three interrelated programs: a Mainstage Season of New York premieres, a Literary Department, and an Education and Outreach Department. MCC Theaters history includes Margaret Edsons Pulitzer Prize winning Wit, Tim Blake Nelsons The Grey Zone, Rebecca Gilmans The Glory of Living, Peter Hedges Good as News and last seasons The Mercy Seat by Neil LaBute. As an actor, LuPone has performed on Broadway in True West (2000 revival), A View from the Bridge, Zoya’s Apartment, Late Night Comic, St. Joan, and as Zach in the original cast of A Chorus Line (Tony nomination). He has appeared Off-Broadway in plays such as Lennon, Clothes for a Summer Hotel, Black Angel, and Snow Orchid at Circle Repertory Theatre. He was most recently seen in last season’s Broadway revival of Herb Gardner’s A Thousand Clowns with Tom Selleck.
