KURT DEUTSCH founded Sh-K-Boom Records with Sherie Rene Scott in 2000. Sh-K-Boom Records is a record label, a producer of recorded and live entertainment, and an interactive community at www.sh-k-boom.com ? all devoted to the mission of bridging the gap between pop music and theatre. Sh-K-Boom is also developing original Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals, as well as other recording projects with New Generation Broadway artists and composers. Sh-K-Boom produced and released the debut solo albums of Broadway stars and composers, Jason Robert Brown, Sherie Rene Scott, Alice Ripley, and Adam Pascal, and recently released Adam?s second solo album Civilian which crossed over into the mainstream. Sh-K-Boom has also produced and released a number of cast albums thus far: Altar Boyz (Off-Broadway); Bright Lights Big City (all-star cast recording); World Premiere Recording of Michel Legrand?s musical Amour; Jason Robert Brown?s musical, The Last 5 Years; and the Off-Broadway production of Debbie Does Dallas. Ghostlight, a new Sh-K-Boom imprint, was created in 2004 to record and preserve musical theatre recordings, be they classics, revivals or new works. Ghostlight releases include Broadway cast recordings of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Little Women, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (William Finn), The Drowsy Chaperone, and the Grammy-nominated Actors Fund of America recording of Hair.
