JEFF BLUMENKRANTZ began his career as an actor, performing in such Broadway shows as Into the Woods (1987), Threepenny Opera (1989), Damn Yankees (1994), How to Succeed in Business... (1995) and A Class Act (2001), as well as on screen in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Candide, Will & Grace, All My Children, and all three Law and Order series. A member of the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop since 1987, Jeff considers Audra McDonald's recording of his song "I Won't Mind" in 2000 to be the official launch of his songwriting career. Since then, he has received a Best Original Score Tony nomination for his songs in Urban Cowboy, as well as commissions from Carnegie Hall and the Guggenheim's Works and Process program. His one-act pieces, Woman with Pocketbook and Precious Little Jewel, have been performed at several regional theatres. Jeff is a recipient of the BMI Harrington Award and the Dramatists Guild Jonathan Larson Memorial Musical Theatre Fellowship. He is the creator and host of both The Jeff Blumenkrantz Songbook Podcast and "The BMI Workshop Songbook Podcast" and a graduate of Northwestern University.
