Harry Lennix
HARRY LENNIX Recent credits: Radio Golf, Stomp the Yard, the television series 24 and Commander in Chief Film/TV: Julie Taymor's Titus ( Golden Satellite Award), the Oscar winning Ray (SAG Award nomination, Ensemble Cast), The Matrix 2 & 3, The Human Stain, Spike Lee's Get on the Bus, and Showtime's Keep The Faith, Baby as the legendary Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Stage: title roles in August Wilson's King Hedley II at the Mark Taper Forum and Malcolm X (Ollie Award) at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago (Board member), and two Joseph Jefferson Citations for his roles in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and Caught in the Act. In 2001, he was part of the first American company to be invited to the Royal Shakespeare Company in Cymbeline with Theatre for a New Audience. Harry has directed several stage productions, including The Glass Menagerie for Steppenwolf, Northlight Theater Company's Permanent Collection, which was remounted at LA's Kirk Douglas Theater and the stage version of The Five Heartbeats (3 NAACP Theater Award nominations). His theater company, LEGACY, has produced shows about historic events in Black America including The Meeting in which he starred as Malcolm X and Julius Caesar set in the Civil Rights era.
