Elizabeth Williams
ELIZABETH WILLIAMS has produced on Broadway and around the world since 1989 and received the Tony Award for Best Musical for her production of Crazy for You (1992), and Best Revival for The Real Thing (1999) and for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (2000). Together, as partners in Waxman Williams Entertainment, Anita Waxman and Elizabeth Williams have garnered seventy-one Tony nominations and sixteen Tony Awards, more than any female producing team in history. Ms. Williams' and Ms. Waxman's recent Broadway productions include Bombay Dreams, Gypsy, Flower Drum Song, Topdog/Underdog, and Noises Off, as well as London West End productions of By the Bog of Cats, Ragtime, Hitchcock Blonde and transfers of the Donmar Warehouse productions of The Real Thing, Boston Marriage, and Lobby Hero. Ms. Williams and Ms. Waxman served as executive producers of an unscripted reality series entitled The Scholar, which aired on ABC-TV in spring, 2005, working with partners Jaye Pace, Shannon Meairs, Martin/Stein Productions (Steve Martin and Joan Stein), and Carsey Werner. Through her company Four Corners Productions, Ms. Williams' productions include Crazy for You, Into the Woods, The Secret Garden, and Moon Over Buffalo. From 1984-1989, Ms. Williams served as vice president of Mutual Benefit Productions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mutual Benefit Financial Service Company, and, subsequently, Fifth Avenue Productions. Mutual Benefit Productions and Fifth Avenue Productions created art and theatre investment funds and served as the American financiers for Cameron Mackintosh by syndicating theatrical pannerships and helping to finance the West End, Broadway, and Australian and U.S. national tOuring companies of Les Misirables, Phantom of the Opera, and Miss Saigon. Ms. Williams has served on the board of directors of the 52nd Street Project and is a past chair of the board of directors of the New York Theatre Workshop.
