Carrie Robbins
CARRIE ROBBINS is the Costume Designer for On the Verge or the Geography of Yearning a co-production of Arena Stage and Westport Country Playhouse. She has worked on Broadway's Class Act, Grease, Agnes of God, Yentl, Octette Bridgeclub, Sweet Bird of Youth, The First, Frankenstein, Happy End, Boys of Winter, Cyrano, Shadow Box, Secret Affairs of Mildred Wilde and others. She has designed many shows for Lincoln Center Rep, Chelsea Theatre Center, Acting Co. and New York Shakespeare Festival. Recent designs include Irving Berlin's White Christmas directed by Walter Bobbie (San Francisco, L.A., Boston), M. Butterfly (Arena Stage) and Death in Venice (Glimmerglass) directed by Tazewell Thompson. Other regional designs include Tempest (FIT SurfaceDesign Award) and Flea in Her Ear (LA Dramalogue Award) for the Mark Taper Forum; The Guthrie; Williamstown; Berkshire Theatre; PaperMill; Seattle Rep; and others. Her opera credits include Samson et Dalila (SF Opera), Houston Grand, Sarah Caldwell's Opera Co. of Boston, and Hamburg Statsoper. Film and television credits include In the Spirit, Saturday Night Live and PBS' Arts-in-America. She has received two Tony nominations, five Drama Desk awards, a Maharam, and two juried International. She has been profiled in Costume Design, Techniques of Modern Masters and Contemporary Designers. Other design work includes illustrations for children's books on Mozart, and uniforms for Rainbow Room and Windows on the World.
